The time comes when we must surely feel the need to step away from everything out there for some time and get in touch with ourself a bit more deeply, that it is not enough to continue in the same old way. This is can be done gently and gradually in the seclusion of your own inner nature.
These courses clear the way for you to be able connect more directly with your inner life, something not possible while fully engaged in the world. As well as the length of the courses, the peaceful environment, the quiet we are encouraged to keep there, the absence of outside distractions all help to make this possible more than any other way.
Different practices and techniques are introduced at different times as our inner perception deepens, so that as our practice evolves, the different steps of self discovery come at the right time, each step preparing for the next
The guidance leaves you free to have your own experience in the privacy of your own inner space. This develops a sense of quiet confidence which can’t be described because it’s different than the usual.
Sooner or later there are things we have to face up to which are particular to this life. This way we can do it consciously, knowingly, with full awareness; you will find it fits right in with whatever you have found and tested to be true.
Here you can let it become an adventure and a part of your life. There is knowledge and there are skills here that are really beneficial in navigating a rapidly changing world
The focus is on Awareness
- What it is
- Why it's essential
- How to practice accurately
- How to maintain it
- What it can do for you
- The benefits that become apparent in daily life
Awareness is the constant in meditation. awareness is being present, in the moment, and there are delightful ways to be present. Awareness is seeing things as they are - equally, undivided by opinion and self appraisal.
Awakening awareness allows you to become free from the demands of influence and distraction. Learn to let the mind rest awhile and enjoy a deeper kind of relaxation the find the peace of mind waiting there
Suitable for everyone who wants to look a little deeper into their own nature more clearly, for understanding, clarity of purpose and decision making.
If this is making sense, then give it some thought and listen to your inner voice where these decisions are made, and note down the dates. And if not this time, maybe another. We have the long view before us.
The purpose of the longer silent meditation courses
Teaching meditation begins with the assumption that the wisdom is already present within, that the guidance is trying to speak to the wisdom that is already in each one of us. But making the connection is not automatic, it requires the right intention, the right time, environment and focus, and guidance
As the worldly activities get left behind, after some time the mind which was active out there gradually becomes calm. when the mind is quiet like that, and continues undisturbed, the way is open for a connection with the higher mind, inside, which is the source of intuition and wisdom.
Testimonials from previous courses
• Amazing, highly recommended. Very rarely do we have the opportunity to find a way to be comfortable with everything that occurs within us. This was such an opportunity; to sit and go beyond our constructed beliefs to a light deep within.
• Up for a challenge? Looking to move forward in your life? Then go to this retreat and see what happens.
• Set me on the right direction after years of procrastinating.
• It will change your life if you let it.
• Exceeded all expectation- absolutely brilliant.
• If you seek the truth … seek out this course.
• A life-changing experience in a beautiful setting.
• A life-changing experience in a beautiful setting.
• The stillness and clarity gained over 5 days of learning the systematic approach to meditation and establishing oneself in the quiet mind as the observer is a profound experience.
And my favourite, which exactly describes in a nutshell the 'will I / won't I?' of self-knowledge:
If I had known what would happen during this course, I would not have come. If I had not come, I would not know what I know now.
